Our History

About Our

Founder

, About Page Steel

Harvey developed a love for welding, heavy machinery, and all things of an industrial nature when serving in the Navy Sea Bees. During his time of service, he was stationed in several places including, the Philippines, Japan, Korea, California, and Alaska. Here he became certified in almost all types of welding and gained invaluable experience operating heavy machinery. This exposure, combined with his experiences from back home, logging the white mountains of Arizona, were a great preparation for a very successful career.

Early

Page Steel

, About Page Steel

Harvey and his wife Darlene moved their family to Page following an employment opportunity for him to weld on the Glen Canyon Dam. Upon the completion of the Dam, he saw an opportunity to stay in the area and make Page his home. He started by helping to sell off the surplus construction equipment and supplies from the dam. This was a long, hard road that almost ended his time in Page before things even got started. With an unbeatable work ethic, a lot of help from above, and a phone call to Barry Goldwater, Harvey was able to stay on his feet and slowly start to form what is now Page Steel.

Second Generation

Growth

, About Page Steel

As the business began to grow, Harvey’s oldest son, Doug, started to show great interest in the steel world at a very young age. Before long, Doug was learning all of the ins and outs of the company and greatly enjoyed working alongside his father. In 1992, Harvey and Darlene were called to preside over the New Zealand Wellington Mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In Harvey’s absence, Doug steered the company into the future, nearly tripling the size of the business in the 3 short years Harvey was gone.
